Being prepared for such events can significantly reduce stress, minimize damage, and even save lives. Here’s a guide to help you prepare for emergencies in a practical, step-by-step manner. 1. What shape is your face?

Image
What shape is your face? As a woman over 50, understanding your face shape can help you choose hairstyles, makeup techniques, and even accessories that highlight your best features. Your face shape is determined by your bone structure rather than age, so it remains consistent throughout your life. Here’s how you can identify your face shape: Common Face Shapes: Oval: Balanced proportions with slightly wider cheekbones and a narrower jawline. This is often considered the most versatile shape. Round: Equal length and width with soft, rounded edges, especially at the cheeks. Square: Prominent jawline, with the width of the forehead, cheeks, and jaw all similar. Heart: Wider forehead and cheekbones with a narrower, pointed chin. Rectangle/Long: Elongated face with a similar width at the forehead, cheeks, and jawline but with greater length than width. Diamond: Narrow forehead and chin with the widest point at the cheekbones. Tips for Determining Your Face Shape: Measure: Using ...

The Deep Palette

Image
The Deep Palette As you know from watching my YouTube video's I am a natural brunette with fair colour eyes (a mix of blue, grey and green).  Therefore, my most suitable colour palette is 'deep'.  If you're like me the colours listed below will offer a good, basic range of what you should be looking for in order to stay looking young and radiant.  Women in their 50's or 60's and beyond may find that their colours are lighter and cooler than in their 40's. Many women in their 40's find that their colouring loses some of its intensity and that they need to adjust the colour of their clothes to remain younger looking.   If you are in your 50's, and you can continue to wear the 'deep' colour palette,  think about adding texture to your colours in order to soften the look.  This maybe the time to consider tinting your hair... Neutrals Stone, taupe, pewter, chocolate, black-brown, charcoal, black, damson, aubergine, dark navy, pine and olive. Ligh...

We decided on tops from John Lewis - who sell numerous designer brands under the one umbrella.  My favourite was the pink t-shirt - let me know what your favourite garment is... I hope you find both Linda and my videos helpful and enjoyable.

How to style a satin slip skirt

Image
TIPS ON HOW TO STYLE A SATIN SKIRT Dressing a satin slip skirt as a plus-size woman can be both stylish and empowering with a few key tips.  Start by choosing a skirt that highlights your favorite features, such as a high-waisted design that cinches at the smallest part of your waist, creating an hourglass silhouette.  Pair the slip skirt with a fitted top or blouse to balance the flowy fabric of the skirt; a tucked-in shirt or a cropped sweater can enhance your shape without overwhelming your frame. Layering with a structured blazer or denim jacket can add definition and provide a chic contrast to the softness of the satin.  Don’t shy away from bold accessories or statement jewelry, which can draw attention upwards and complement the elegance of the skirt.  Finally, opt for a comfortable, supportive pair of shoes that match the occasion, from sleek pumps for a polished look to stylish flats for a more relaxed vibe. Take a look at my YouTube Matalan video and How to ...

A tidy environment is linked to reduced stress and increased productivity, helping you focus better and relax more easily in your home. 2. Maximising Storage Efficiency Summer clothes and outdoor furniture are bulky, and leaving them out can crowd your home unnecessarily. Packing away these items in well-organized stora...
